There Goes an Alpha Man
By: Peter Clark
There goes a man of high impulse,
of princely mien and grace.
There goes a man of humble faith,
a credit to his race.
There goes a man of conscious vast,
with will to reach his goal.
There goes a man of lordly rank
of heroes stock and soul.
There goes a man of noble cast
whom hardship cannot break.
There goes a man in merit clad,
whom duty won't forsake.
There goes a man of culture verse,
who holds a sportsman's creed.
There goes a man too vigilant
to bow to lust or greed.
There goes a man whose life
is spent in service, not in scorn.
There goes a man whose majesty
shines like a may time morn.
There goes a man who is a friend
to love and duty truth.
There goes a man to help uplift
the lives of wholesome youth.
There goes a man with industry
and faith at his command.
There goes the best man in or out
for he's an Alpha Man.

President’s Corner
Greetings! On behalf of the 264th chartered chapter, the Eta Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. would like to welcome you to our website. Since 1959, Eta Iota Lambda has continued to stand at the forefront of issues affecting underrepresented populations in the Athens area.

After leading efforts to integrate the University of Georgia and helping to establish the Zeta Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc, the first Black Greek-Letter Organization on the campus., the chapter has continued to provide great services to the local communities. Eta Iota Lambda’s mission is to develop communities & occupational leaders, demonstrate the highest level of brotherhood & service, and advocate for college men and at-risk youth in the Athens area. It is through this mission that we continue to serve. During this time of tough economic, political, and social justice issues, the Eta Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. continues to lead the downtrodden of humanity in the Athens area.
Alpha’s rich history has provided a foundation that challenges us to communicate visually as well as verbally, to always listen intently to the needs of the Brotherhood, to seek honest feedback while testing ideas and to dream big dreams.
This website has been designed with you in mind. It should be used as a tool to allow our external constituents a glimpse into the great work that that are taking place in the House of Alpha.
